Hi friends! Wanna hear some great news? Our blog has been nominated for the Liebster award by Amy from 24/7 Teacher. Are you serious? What an honor! Thank you so much, Amy!

1. If you could be any animal what would you be and why?
Hmmm…let’s see. I love elephants because I think they are so beautiful and different. I would probably be an elephant. :)

2. Have you read any thing lately? If so, what? Tell a little bit about it.
Since I start school in a few weeks, I’ve been reading different children’s books….basically some books to start the new school year. Amelia Bedelia’s First Day of School is one of my faves.

3. If you weren't a teacher what would you be?                                           This may sound silly, but I would love to be a librarian. I love books and I also like to scan things! :)
4. What is your favorite T.V. Show?                                                                    I am a huge fan of Big Brother. It’s one of the reasons I look forward to summer.
5. What hobby do you have?                                                                              I love to scrapbook. I have a little area in the basement where I create.
6. What is your favorite store at the mall?                                                   How much time do you have? I mean…really? Shopping is one of my favorite things to do. I love Bath & Body Works and Old Navy.
7. What would be the perfect hours for a school day and why?                      I would rather start a little earlier than later. I would say 8:30-3:00.

8. If you could go any where in the world where would it be and why?
I’ve always wanted to visit Hawaii. I’m planning to get there one of these days. When I see pictures of Hawaii, it looks so beautiful.

9. If you could win any prize what would it be? (Grammy, Oscar, Emmy, Pulitzer, Olympic, Nobel Peace Prize or any other)                               Probably an Oscar…my students love when I act out the characters in the books we read…..especially Ms. Swamp from the book, Miss Nelson is Missing.
10. What is your favorite subject to teach? Why?                                              I am really enjoy teaching math because it was one of my faves a a kid. I love using manipulatives and solving problems with my kiddos.
11. What is your dream vacation?                                                                   My dream vacation is any place where it is warm and I can lay on the beach…..probably Hawaii. It would be great to stay for 2 weeks!

Here are eleven random facts about me.

1. I love all things make-up, hair, and nail polish. I am truly a girly-girl.

2. I did my student teaching in Las Vegas and I absolutely loved it!

3. My husband and I are college sweethearts. We have been married for 11 years.

4. We have two little boys (ages 3 and 5). Our oldest will be going to kindergarten in the fall. (insert tear here)

5. I get all giddy when school supplies come out in July.

6. My husband and I each have a principal’s license. He’s interested, but I am on the fence about being a principal because I can’t see myself doing anything else right now but teaching.

7. I love anything crafty. Right now, I’m working on a rocket to put in my classroom made out of cardboard….We’ll see how that turns out!

8. I am a procrastinator to the fullest! I really need to work on this. I will say that I work better under pressure though.

9. I love spending time with family.

10. I love a good cup of coffee in the morning. It helps to get me going.

11. I always have to be working on a project or DOING SOMETHING! It’s hard for me just to sit around.
