Hey Friends! We had an amazing 50th Day celebration in my classroom and I just had to share. I must say I so look forward to the 50th day of school. Many activities from our day came from these two packs. Thank you so much Cara Carroll and Latoya Reed!
When I greeted my seconds at the door, they immediately noticed that I was dressed like this….
Our classroom was decorated for the big day. We colored some records the day before to hang around the classroom and on the door.
Throughout the day, we listened to some good ole fifties music from this CD. I would definitely recommend this it for your 50th Day Celebration.
A Child’s Celebration of Rock N’ Roll
The students worked on a 50th day book for morning work. There’s some super math activities in this book.
We kicked off our learning by completing a sticky note poster of 50 Reasons Why We Love School.
We continued by reading a story called At Play Long Ago and Today. This is a great story about the similarities between today and back in the day.
After reading, we used a venn diagram to compare and contrast how children played and had fun long ago and today.
Before lunch, we had bubble gum blowing contest.
After recess, we did a how-to writing. My seconds really enjoyed learning to make a root beer float.
At the end of the day, we made root beer floats. What’s the 50th day without root beer floats?
It was definitely a day to remember. Did I mention that I taught my kiddos to do The Hand Jive? :)
Oh my word, you look adorable!!! Where did you find those socks? Haha, I loved those kind of socks when I was little. It looks like you had a fabulous 50th day with your class. So many fun ideas...I love the bubble gum contest! I'll have to check out that cd too! Thanks for sharing friend!

Hey there, friend! Thanks so much for stopping by. I found the socks at Walmart. I just had to have them. They so reminded me of when I was little. This has to be one of my favorite days of the school year. So much fun! :)
