Hi friends! Please forgive me for my absence. The past month and a half has been super busy with testing, interviewing, grading, and more testing. Wait! Did I say interviewing? Yes, I did. I’m sure you know where this is headed.
I have been teaching at a year-round school for the past eight years. I loved it! If you would like to learn more about my year round schedule, just click HERE. Anyway, I have decided to go back to traditional school (9 months). I believe that this is what is best for my family at this time. My hubby is a teacher as well and we will have a first grader and a Pre-Ker (I know that’s not a word) next school year. I need to be on the same schedule as my guys. I will have the entire summer to enjoy my hubby and our boys. I mean who wouldn’t want to spend more time with these cuties???
This week has been bittersweet. I am emotionally drained and I still need to say good-bye to my sweet kiddos tomorrow. I will miss them so much. I will cherish the student, family, and staff relationships I have made.
I do not know what the future will bring for me, but I know God is always in control. Starting at a new school can be challenging, but I am truly excited about this new opportunity. I am looking forward to meeting my new second graders and working with the staff and parents.
Stay tuned to hear updates about my school journey and fun ideas for my new classroom.
Congrats on the new job!! I am interviewing right now and I hate it. Hopefully I survive.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kristy! Interviewing can be so nerve-racking! Stay encouraged. :)
DeleteI hope it all goes smoothly. Saying goodbye to the kids is always hard but I'm sure you'll love being on the 9 month schedule.

Hey Lucy! It was Tear City today in my room, but we managed. :) I'm looking forward to the schedule. :)
DeleteOh my word, this would be very bitter/sweet! Have you found a new job then? It will be good to spend more time with your beautiful family....but I'm sure your heartbroken leaving where you've worked for 8 years! That would be so hard. Good luck with the transition!!! :)

Hey Melissa! Thanks so much. I have accepted another position already. I will be teaching second grade at a traditional school. It is hard transitioning but I am looking forward to lots of time with my guys. Take care and enjoy summer. :)
